Episcopal Church Women

The ECW is an active group of women who work together to address a multitude of church and community needs.  All women of the church are encouraged to be a part of ECW. Our church activities include, but are not limited to, fundraising, coordinating receptions, luncheons and dinners, supporting special events, and grounds and building maintenance. At the annual meeting of the ECW, decisions are made as to the recipients of the outreach funds raised.

For our immediate community, we offer free dinners; collect supplies for The Haven, a local women’s and children’s shelter; and food for the local food bank. We also participate in Christmas giving projects supporting local children and mailing Christmas ‘Shoeboxes’ to children in underdeveloped countries. Additionally, we support the African Team Ministries with the sale of their goods. Collections are also held for the United Thank Offering each year and our Fifth Sunday Loose Plate Offerings are designated to charitable causes, some of which are Our Little Roses Mission, the Ledwith-Lewis Free Clinic, the Tappahannock-Essex County Fire Department, and our priest’s discretionary fund.
