Festival Dinners

Parish Picnic

A parish picnic is held annually as a time to share food and fellowship. These have been hosted by parishioners or enjoyed in our church courtyard.

Mardi Gras Dinner

The St. John’s Mardi Gras dinner is held annually on Shrove Tuesday. Traditional New Orleans fare, including shrimp and grits and jambalaya is served with a salad, corn bread, and dessert. Mardi Gras decorations adorn the tables and attendees! Some years the menu varies featuring a pancake supper. Proceeds support the scholarship fund and Episcopal Church Women’s Outreach Programs.

Fall Harvest Dinner

In the past, St. John’s choir has sponsored a dinner with an international theme in the fall of the year. These have included French, German, and Mexican cuisine with appropriate music led by our choir members and music director. A new twist for this dinner has been a Fall Harvest Dinner with local bounty including oysters, crab, fish and fall vegetables. Proceeds generally are used for choir expenses and other church projects.
